KINGMAN — Otis E. Alward, 94, of Kingman died at 1:15 p.m. Sunday (April 29, 1973) at the Vermillion County Hospital in Clinton where he had been a patient since March 30. Born Feb. 16, 1879, in Jackson Township, Fountain County, he was a son of Timothy and Sarah Myers Alward. He married Eva Mills Aug. 8, 1925 in Rosedale. She survives. Other survivors are a brother, Claude of Kingman; and two sisters, Mrs. Grace Newnum of Kinsman and Mrs. Irene Delp of Marshall Route 1. He was preceded in death by two sisters. He had worked as a painter and decorator and was a life member of Painters Union local 460 in Hammond. He retired in 1944 and moved to Kingman from Hammond. He was a member of Wolfe Creek Community Church south of Wallace. Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wolfe Creek Community Church with the Rev. Kenneth Brock officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
